| White Rice
 Mud’s Preferred Method:
1 tablespoon butter 1 cup long grain white rice 1 1/2 cup water 1 tsp. salt
In medium saucepan, melt butter until bubbly. Add rice and fry over medium-med. high heat for 3 minutes. Add water and salt. Cover tightly with lid and simmer on low heat for 20 minutes. Don’t lift lid during cooking!
Easier Method (not as good though in Mud’s opinion)
2 cups water 1 cup long grain white rice 1 tsp. salt 1 tablespoon butter
Combine all and bring to boil. Stir once and cover tightly. Simmer on low heat for 20 minutes. (Rice will be a bit mushier and stickier than above method.) |
